Perhaps the most famous Brunello of all, this is crafted in the traditional, elegant style rather than the more modern, extracted ‘American’ style of recent years. Founded in the 1800s the estate today has 25 hecatres of vines planted at various altitudes. The Brunello di Montalcino is fermented in concrete tanks, then aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks prior to bottling. This fragrant, elegant 2009 is just starting to drink beautifully.
