A tiny 4.6 hectare property on the plateau of Pomerol, close to Lafleur, Le Pin and Petrus, with a mixture of sand, gravel and clay soils. Vines are 25 years old on average, the oldest planted in 1957. 70% Merlot, 30% Cab Franc. Vinified in concrete vat, with a small proportion microvinified in barrel. 60% new French oak is used for ageing of around 16 months. The property is performing at a high level, with a particular acceleration in the last decade. This is now performing at a very high level, delivering similar quality to some of the region’s most famous names, but at a much more accessible price
Medium-full with deep, rich succulent dark fruits accented with hints of coffee and liquorice, and barely noticeable new oak adding supporting complexity. A delicious wine, already drinking and will improve over the next decade.
