Laphroaig Quarter Cask Islay Single Malt Whisky has been aged in American oak twice for a strong, seductive flavour.
The spirit has more touch with wood because the second maturing takes place in smaller, quarter-sized casks. This gives the instantly familiar Laphroaig flavour of smokey peat accented by a surprise sweetness overtones of coconut, banana, and vanilla. To truly appreciate the unusual flavour, it should be consumed alone, over ice, or with a dash of water. Laphroaig Quarter Cask begins its maturation in ex-bourbon barrels before being transferred to small quarter casks while still maturing. The use of smaller barrels for ageing pays homage to the expert distillers who have mastered the Laphroaig method over the course of two centuries.
