This under the radar esate is producing some of the best wines of the Nuits St Georges appellation. Vincent Lécheneaut’s son Jules has now joined the family estate which comprises 10 hectares of vineyards. Vinification is traditional with most of the fruit destemmed and given a five day cold maceration before fermentation in steel and cement vats at a maximum of 28C. Ageing is in barrels from François Frères and Seguin-Moreau, whose fine-grained oak complements the wines. These are rich, yet elegant expressions of Pinot. 2019 was a great vintage, producing supple, balanced wines which will drink well from an early age
